ARISE®
Comprehensive Care with Intervention Nationwide
ARISE® Comprehensive Care with Intervention is a longer term, collaborative, strengths-based approach that addresses healing by:
After many years of being a clinician and leader, I chose to train in this model of continuing care and intervention to respond to the need for more support for families and to help persons with eating disorders and other mental health challenges be part of their own family network of support.
As part of my ARISE® Comprehensive Care with Intervention services, I organize the family to work together, understand the impacts of intergenerational trauma, and develop a recovery message unique to your family and situation. I also guide you in finding the right treatment programs and/or teams and refer you to additional resources specific to your whole family’s needs. I interface with the treatment program and/or team members and work on building a safety net upon discharge and for each transition along the recovery process.
Typically, we meet weekly for six months, more if needed, to address any concerns, provide you with education, facilitate healing for all family members, and anticipate disruptions. You may think of me as the family facilitator.
In a sense, getting a person to a treatment center is the first step. Navigating all the bumps in the road that happen between then and long-term recovery is incredibly challenging. You will need someone who has experience to guide you through these unexpected events. I recommend this process for persons who have had a history of challenges and whose families desire long-term healing and to function even more effectively and efficiently as a support team.

The advanced coaching skills we teach to clinicians
can be taught to family members as well.
Family members and caregivers can also consider attending one of my two-day Emotion Focused Family Therapy Parent/Caregiver Workshops. These workshops are designed to provide caregivers with advanced skills to help support their loved ones with mental health issues across the lifespan. The workshop is available to you even if you are not part of your loved ones treatment right now and will help you to coach them through difficult emotions, insert practical support at the right time, and understand and enhance your own style for offering support.
